ISO Flange

Advantages
1. More flexible fastening options: They are fastened with either an ISO claw clamp, or with bolts on the body itself.
2. Stronger sealing: ISO flanges are more reliably fastened with an ISO Centering Ring in between, ensuring a better leak proof seal.
3. Large diameters: ISO flanges are offered in sizes 2.5” and above.
Disadvantages
1. More bulky: ISO flanges are larger more bulky compared to KF flanges, making them more difficult to incorporate in a smaller space.
2. More difficult to assemble: ISO flanges require tools to assemble and disassemble due to its bolts. ISO flanges that are bolted on the body often take significantly more time to unfasten and fasten.
KF Flange

The parts of a KF Flange include: KF Flange, KF Centering Ring, KF O Ring, KF Clamp, and KF Flange
Advantages
1. Ease of assembly: Kf Flanges are much easier to assemble and disassemble because its wing nut design means no tools as required. They are much faster to disassemble in applications that require frequent rearrangements.
2. Compact design: KF flanges are smaller in size so they are much easier to work with in smaller spaces.
Disadvantages
1. Poorer vacuum seal: While KF flanges can provide an excellent vacuum seal, the wing nut design means it is easier for incorrect assembly, for example if the clamp is not sufficiently tightened.
2. Material limitations: KF flanges are usually only produced in stainless steel 304 and 316L. ISO flanges are available in stainless steel and other materials like brass.
